It’s still a few years away, but Game of Thrones is slowly but surely coming to an end. When that happens, HBO will be left with a sizable hole in their traditionally blockbuster Sunday night lineup. Network execs are hoping that Westworld, a sci-fi/western drama that will make its series debut this weekend, will fill the void.
Westworld is based on a 1973 film by the same name, which was written and directed by Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park). The new TV series, developed by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy (with J.J. Abrams along to direct the pilot episode) is about a futuristic theme park where visitors immerse themselves in a fictional world of artificial intelligence. It features a solid cast that includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, and James Marsden.
Here are two new videos that help introduce us to Westworld.
