Game of Thrones

Use These ‘GoT’ Political Ads To Vote For The President of Westeros

What if Westeros was a democracy? Who would you vote for?

Game of Thrones left us at the end of Season Six with all the s**t about to hit the fan. Cersei had taken over on the Iron Throne with the help of the twisted Qyburn, but Daenerys and Tyrion on sailing to Westeros, Sansa and Petyr Baelish have formed some weird alliance, and Jon Snow has been declared King in the North by the adorable and badass Lady Mormont, and all the Northern houses bracing for winter.

Capitalizing on the attention of the upcoming national election in the United States, HBO has started a new website where people can vote on who they would want to rule the seven kingdoms. And since no election would be complete without attack ads and blatant propaganda, they made those too.

Here are the campaign ads for the four Westerosi presidential tickets. Naturally, only the Snow/Mormont video goes the honorable route and doesn’t attack his opponents.

Unfortunately for fans of democracy, this is all just a marketing ploy to advertise the release of the Season Six DVD set. Plus on the show, the eventual ruler of the land will be decided by an epic, bloody battle to the death. Not some lame ass election.
