‘The Walking Dead’ Used The ‘Saw’ Set In Last Week’s Episode

If the Maggie and Carol hostage situation felt a bit like a scene from a horror movie at times, that was no accident. As it turns out, the room that the two were held captive in for most of last week’s episode is actually the set that was used in the very first Saw movie.

As revealed by The Walking Dead twitter account, “The Same Boat” was largely set in the same location where Cary Elwes’s character cut off his own leg in an effort to escape the clutches of Jigsaw. The different tone of dirt and grime may have fooled most of us but we should have known something was up when The Walking Dead put a dead guy of its very own on the floor.

It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not the entire facility is the same one featured in the 2004 film, but it’s a definite possibility. One thing’s for sure though: both franchises used the space well.
