The Walking Dead: This Character Is As Good As Dead In Season 7

Fox just announced that it will be picking up the series 24: Legacy, a sequel/reboot of sorts to the original 24. What does this have to do with The Walking Dead, you may ask? Well, Kiefer Sutherland is no longer in the lead role (he’s serving as a producer this time out); instead, Corey Hawkins is the star, playing Eric Carter.

Hawkins is also a supposed series regular on The Walking Dead, playing Heath (we say supposed because he was only in three episodes last season). Hawkins had limited screen time last season due to his work on the 24: Legacy pilot and the upcoming film Kong: Skull Island, and with 24 being picked up for a full season order, it’s hard to see Hawkins spending much more time in The Walking Dead’s world.

Although Heath wasn’t part of Negan’s line-up of potential victims at the end of last season, it’s hard to see him making it very far in season seven (if he even comes back at all). Despite his limited presence on the show, Heath is actually a pretty important character in the comics. Of course, the comic and TV show deviate quite drastically from one another in certain areas, so it’s not as if Heath is off limits from getting the ax, but it will be interesting to see how the show handles the death of a character who is still very much alive in the comics.
