‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Premiere Title Contains A Cool Season 1 Easter Egg

We’re less than two weeks away from the much-anticipated dreaded return of The Walking Dead. In addition to a tense new sneak peak trailer, AMC has also announced the title of the season seven premiere, along with a brief synopsis the for the episode.

The synopsis is, understandably, pretty vague and unrevealing: “Last season season ended with Rick and our group kneeling helplessly before Negan and his group. What negan does will haunt those who survive forever.” However, it’s the episode’s title —”The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.”— that has us a bit more intrigued. If that line sounds familiar, that’s because it’s what Dr. Edwin Jenner from the Center for Disease Control tells Rick after the latter expresses his gratitude for being allowed leave the building after Jenner initiates an explosion countdown. With what Negan is poised to do in the upcoming episode, it looks like that day may have finally arrived.

In case you missed it, here is the sneak peak for season seven, which doesn’t of course doesn’t reveal Negan’s victim but does offer some clues. If you look closely, you’ll notice that Rick has a blood splatter on his face that wasn’t there before. This means that whoever Negan’s victim is, they were likely on Rick’s right side, which would make Rosita, Michonne, Abraham, Maggie, Daryl, or Glenn the potential victim. Not really narrowing it down all that much, but it’s still something to think about.
