The Rock Is Developing Another TV Show

Since everything he touches seems to turn to gold lately, it should be no surprise that opportunities keep cropping up for former WWE Superstar and Hollywood A-lister Dwayne “The Rock’ Johnson. The latest news is that he is deep in development on a new show for Fox, reportedly a “cop drama” with the basic concept described as “Fast and Furious meets Rescue Me“. Tim Kring, creator of Heroes, is set to executive produce the series alongside Johnson. The show is currently titled Boost Unit, and will focus on a real-life crime unit which deals with car-related crimes in Los Angeles. Johnson will not star in the pilot, but could likely make guest appearances if the series gets picked up.

Johnson also stars and executive produces Ballers for HBO, in between starring in blockbuster films. Upcoming movies set to star The Rock include a film based on the TV series Baywatch, as well as the next installment in the Fast and Furious franchise.
