Stallone Planning To Revive ‘Rambo’ Franchise?

It has been reported that Sylvester Stallone, currently starring in the critically acclaimed film Creed, a new sequel to the Rocky movies, has closed a development deal to executive produce a TV series based on the Rambo: First Blood movie franchise for Fox. There has been no confirmation on if Stallone will appear on the show, but early word is that the plot will involve the relationship between John Rambo and his son, who is expected to be the star of the series, with whomever ends up playing Rambo likely also playing a regular role on the show.

The series is being written by Jeb Stuart, who has previously been a screenwriter for the Die Hard and Fugitive movies. This is the second Stallone franchise that Fox is attempting to turn into a TV show, with his Expendables franchise currently under production and expected to air as an “event series” under the direction of Shane Brennan (NCIS: LA).
