The 12th Doctor’s time will soon come to an end, as Peter Capaldi has confirmed that he will end his run on BBC’s Doctor Who  at the end of the current series.

Capaldi made the announcement on BBC Radio 2 this week. Coincidentally, Series 10 will also mark the end of showrunner Steven Moffat’s time on the show, who has occupied that role ever since he replaced Russell T. Davies in 2010.

Capaldi leaves the show after a three-year run, the same amount of time previous Doctor Matt Smith spent on the series. With Series 11 set to introduce both a new Doctor and Showrunner, it will be interesting to see how Doctor Who fans react to the changes.
