Based on the popular Japanese manga, written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Death Note is a story about a high school student (Light Yagami) that finds a supernatural notebook, one that holds immense power. If the owner of the book inscribes someone’s name into it, while picturing their face, that person will die. Feeling as if he can make a difference, Light begins using the notebook to kill those he deems unworthy of life. The decision to use the notebook permanently alters Light’s personality, descending him into a world of darkness, where he takes on the alias, Kira.
Before long, the suspicious deaths begin to attract the attention of the worlds greatest detective, L – a man that has sworn to catch Kira, and put an end to all the death and manipulation.
