Netflix is dropping Marvel original series all over the place. Daredevil is returning for season two shortly, and Luke Cage and season two of Jessica Jones are both on their way sometime in 2016. The only real mystery left is what is going on with Iron Fist.
But have no fear, Marvel fans! Writer Scott Reynolds, who has previously worked on shows like Dexter and Jessica Jones, confirmed this week that he has joined Iron Fist as part of the writing staff. The fact that he has already worked on one of Netflix’s Marvel products should mean good things for Iron Fist when it eventually goes live on the popular streaming service.
Meanwhile, the actor who plays Luke Cage (Mike Colter) also had some interesting things to say about the forthcoming Iron Fist:
“The actor has been cast, but he’s in a basement somewhere,” Colter said, according to Collider. “When the time is right, they’ll let him up and tell him where he is. I am [excited]. I’ll get a nice little break, after doing Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Whether I’m in [his show], I don’t know, but there’s The Defenders.”
Whoever they have playing Danny Rand (the alter-ego of Iron Fist), if he has already been cast there’s a possibility that he may make a cameo appearance in Luke Cage when it finally comes out. After all, the stories of Rand and Cage are very closely related in the comics and the Netflix series haven’t strayed very far from their source materials.
