We’re used to having a long wait between Game of Thrones seasons (it doesn’t help that they typically end with massive cliffhangers). Unfortunately, it now looks likely that season six will begin airing a bit later than we’ve grown accustomed to.

While HBO has yet to announce the official start date for season six, a bit of investigation by Huffington Post into the network’s other Sunday programming times suggest that Game of Thrones could be pushed back from its usual early April start time. New show Vinyl, produced by Martin Scorsese, begins airing February 14 at 9:00, which is the timeslot that Game of Thrones occupies. Returning shows Girls and Togetherness begin airing the week after in the 10:00 and 10:30 slots, respectively.

With each series having a 10 episode season, that means Vinyl‘s finale will air on April 17th, with the other shows wrapping up April 24th. That means, at the earliest, Game of Thrones will be back April 24th, but it seems more likely that HBO would hold it until the first week of May so the show can be paired with its usual programming mates, Silicon Valley and Veep.

That’s right: you may have to wait until May to see what really happened to Jon Snow. That’s almost an entire year out from the season 5 finale. Curse you, HBO!
