If you are one of those Walking Dead fans that also keeps tabs on the comics, you’ll know that the television show is quickly approaching the spot where iconic villain Negan is introduced. It’s hard to see the rest of season six going by without Negan at least appearing somehow, even if he does’t become the focus until season seven.
Much speculation has already occurred about who could play the foul-mouthed leader of the sadistic Saviors. Comic Negan looks almost exactly like Henry Rollins, and Jon Hamm has expressed his interest in the role. Instead, if you like to read to much into innocent Twitter posts, the job could be going to Deadwood alum Garret Dillahunt.

That’s the collection of comics that first introduces Negan to Rick and co. One of his first acts of terror is smashing Glenn’s head in with Lucille, his barbed-wire baseball bat. On the show, Glenn may or may not be alive still. Negan would have to do something incredibly drastic to have the same impact on the show (RIP Daryl?).
Dillahunt did play a pretty convincing violent psycho in the 2009 remake of Last House on the Left, so we could totally see him being cast as the most evil Walking Dead character since The Governor.
If you dig a little deeper into the rumors, there’s a pattern of current Walking Dead actors recently following Dillahunt on Twitter, which could be absolutely meaningless.
Or it could mean that we will soon see Dillahunt show up at the gates of Alexandria with a leather jacket and a cocky smirk and start raising hell.
