At a recent Netflix press event in Paris, Daredevil star Charlie Cox was present to talk about the show’s recently released second season. While Cox had no news to report about a possible third season of Daredevil, he did have something to share about another series the blind crime fighter from Hell’s Kitchen is heavily involved in.

“What we do know is at the end of this year we’re going to be making The Defenders and, of course, Daredevil is very much a part of that foursome,” Cox announced. “I have no idea what the storyline is going to be for that show. I’m very excited to see how those worlds combine, and interested to see tonally how those shows become one.”

The Defenders will be the big crossover event of the Netflix side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with heroes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist sharing the spotlight. With Luke Cage’s first season coming September 30 and the Iron Fist show likely arriving sometime in 2017, it’s hard to see The Defenders making its way to the streaming service before late 2017 at the earliest. Still, it’s reassuring to hear that Marvel is apparently moving ahead with filming the series relatively soon and we can’t wait to see how it all turns out.
