Charlie Cox Already Knows What Villain He Wants For ‘Daredevil’ Season 3

It will likely be awhile before we see a third season of Marvel’s Daredevil, as Netflix still has Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and another season of Jessica Jones all vying for attention right now, but if and when the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen gets another season, series star Charlie Cox already has a villain picked out.

Speaking to Screen Rant recently about Daredevil’s just-released second season, Cox made it clear that he thinks Bullseye needs to make an appearance.

If we are fortunate enough to continue making the Daredevil series, I can’t imagine doing a run of Daredevil where Bullseye doesn’t show up at some point. It would be great to have him around at some point. Who would play that part I have no idea but I just think there’s such an interesting, rich character there, and also of course, the history that Bullseye has with Karen Page is an interesting dynamic. When you read the comics it’s etched in a Daredevil memory all that stuff.

In addition to Bullseye (who was portrayed by Colin Farrell in the 2003 Daredevil film), Cox also voiced his desire to see Vincent D’Onofrio reprise his role as Wilson Fisk in the next season, as he believes that The Kingpin has unfinished business with Matt Murdock.

I’d also like personally, again if we continue to make the Daredevil series, rather than have a new character every season I’d love us to explore more of the Wilson Fisk stuff. It’d be great if at some point Vincent D’Onofrio would come back for a season. There’s so much Daredevil-Wilson Fisk left untold. As he really came into his own, as Wilson Fisk turned into the Kingpin at the end of season one, I’d love to see what that now does to the Daredevil-Fisk dynamic going forward if we were to do a season three or four or whatever.

Having Bullseye (and Fisk) be the main villain of season three makes a lot of sense, so it will be interesting to see whether or not the show goes in this direction when Daredevil inevitably returns for another round. To be honest, we’re more interested in seeing who the big bad of The Defenders is going to be at this point!
