The Smith clan isn’t finished yet!

TBS announced earlier today that Seth MacFarlane’s award-winning animated comedy series, American Dad!, will return for an 18 and 19th season. The popular series is set to reach its 300th episode this year during the 17th season, a feat few adult animated comedies have achieved. American Dad! is currently one of the top 5 comedies on cable, pulling in an estimated 18 million viewers across all TBS platforms. Brett Weitz, General Manager for TNT, TBS, and truTV, had this to say following the announcement of the show’s renewal.

“Matt and Brian are brilliant writers who consistently overdeliver on big comedy and even bigger absurdity. We look forward to continuing the momentum by giving
devoted fans two more seasons of the Smith family.”

As reported by Deadline, American Dad! showrunner Matt Weitzman had this to say after hearing the animated series would be returning for two more seasons:

“After these next two seasons, we will have over 300 episodes. Thus proving that whatever American Dad! lacks in quality, we make up for in quantity.”

Fellow showrunner, Mike Barker, also took to social media to share his excitement about the show’s renewal.

“So turnt up to be picked up for two years! Making the show for TBS has been a dream because they are easily satisfied with the best!”
