Microsoft Is Finally Killing Off Internet Explorer

We know, you’re probably thinking to yourself “wait, people still use Internet Explorer?”

And you’re right. Most people with even a little bit of technical know-how (or even those with a helpful grandchild or neice/nephew) have switched to one of the many other (better) web browser alternatives. But we can’t ignore the fact that Internet Explorer comes bundled in with literally every single Windows PC sold, meaning it still holds a huge market share. So everyone either too lazy or too ignorant to switch to something different still uses IE on a daily basis — and there are millions of those people.

Unfortunately (mercifully?), Microsoft is officially done supporting Internet Explorer. Next Tuesday marks the last time that the software giant will release any sort of update or bug fixes for Internet Explorer 8, 9, or 10. Even IE 11, the final version of the browser, is only being kept around because so many people still use it.

So what now? While, Microsoft obviously wants you to upgrade to Windows 10 and use their brand new Edge browser (honestly guys, it’s not Internet Explorer anymore. Right? Guys?). At the very least, upgrade to IE 11, the latest and most secure version.

More realistically, go get Chrome. Or Firefox. Or Safari. Or Opera. Or Tor. Or literally anything other than godawful Internet Explorer. Seriously.
