Last week, during a conference call intended to promote his rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202, Conor McGregor brought up the situation from UFC 200, when Brock Lesnar failed two separate drug tests during training, which was only revealed after he’d fought and defeated Mark Hunt at the event. Then, because this is what he does, Conor took things a little farther and began mocking professional wrestling in general. Here’s what he had to say:
I haven’t really thought about it. For the most part, those WWE guys are p***ies. They’re messed up p***ies if you ask me.
Setting aside the fact that there are wrestlers, even some on the WWE roster right now, who have competed successfully in MMA, and others that have legitimate training in martial arts or amateur wrestling, of course. Anyway, you can probably imagine the reactions that touched off in the fanbase. So, Conor took to Twitter to explain himself. Kind of.
I didn't mean no disrespect to the @wwe fans. What I meant to say was that I'd slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sunday's.

Safe to say McGregor isn’t intimidating anyone at this point.

At least one guy understood what McGregor’s actions were all about, and for that, we turn to NXT Champion Samoa Joe.

Seriously, I know you have to “protect the business”, but McGregor’s just trying to sell PPV buys from angry people who want to see him get his ass kicked. And it’s probably working.
That said, we hope he gets destroyed.
