Live from Detroit, Michigan

– AJ Styles d. James Ellsworth to retain the WWE World Title (pinfall, forearm strike)

The match did not last a whole minute. Afterwards, Styles continued to brutalize Ellsworth, sending him out on a stretcher, then told the world that he was moving on and looking forward to new challenges in 2017. This brought out Dolph Ziggler, who reminded AJ of their match next week. Styles seemed unimpressed, and Baron Corbin interrupted, claiming he deserved Ziggler’s title shot, because Ziggler always wasted his chances. Corbin attacked, and laid out Ziggler with the End of Days.

– The Miz d. Apollo Crews to retain the WWE Intercontinental Title (pinfall, Skull-Crushing Finale)

Post-match, Renee Young tried to interview the Miz, but he mocked her real-life relationship with Dean Ambrose, and she slapped him.

It was announced that due to Zack Ryder’s injury, the Wyatt Family would defend the Smackdown Tag Team Titles against The Usos, American Alpha, and Heath Slater & Rhyno in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match next week.

Natalya called out Nikki Bella, but also got Carmella in the bargain. Carmella once again stipulated that if she’d attacked Nikki, she would have bragged about it, not covered it up. Natalya inadvertently revealed that she had actually been the attacker, and brawled with Carmella until the Princess of Staten Island ran away. Natalya then admitted to taking out Nikki, because she was actual wrestling royalty and kept getting ignored, while the Bellas had everything handed to them because of their looks.

Another rematch between Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch was announced for what is becoming a fairly packed episode of Smackdown next week.

– Dean Ambrose d. Luke Harper (pinfall, rollup)

After the match, the Wyatt Family laid out Ambrose, then Miz came out and hit Dean with a Skull-Crushing Finale

– La Luchadora d. Alexa Bliss (submission, Disarmer)

In case you hadn’t guessed, the mystery woman unmasked to reveal that she was, in fact, Becky Lynch.

– Mojo Rawley d. Curt Hawkins (pinfall, Running Forearm)

– Baron Corbin vs Dolph Ziggler for Ziggler’s World Title Shot ended in a Double Count-Out

While getting counted out, Corbin threw Ziggler into Styles, who was at ringside on commentary. After the decision, Styles attacked both Corbin and Ziggler with a steel chair. Daniel Bryan came out and announced that the World Title match next week would be a Triple Threat between Styles, Ziggler, and Corbin.
