WWE Reportedly In ‘Very Serious’ Talks With Goldberg

The rumors have been bubbling ever since he was announced as the pre-order DLC for the WWE 2K17 video game, but it appears that there may, in fact, be substance behind the idea of Goldberg making his return to WWE, potentially in a wrestling role. According to the Wrestling Observer Radio podcast, WWE is apparently in very serious talks to sign Goldberg to some sort of contract. Adding fuel to the first is the announcement on Raw that Goldberg will be appearing on ESPN this Wednesday to address his status with WWE. The 49-year-old Goldberg has not been an active wrestler since his WWE contract expired in 2004, the day after WrestleMania XX, but had spoken in recent months about doing an in-ring return so that his son could see him wrestle.

If the rumors turn out to be true, it’s likely that a re-match with Brock Lesnar could be in the cards. We could also see Goldberg as a headliner in the upcoming WWE Hall of Fame class.
