WWE Raw Match Results, October 10th, 2016

We’re three weeks out from Hell in a Cell, and it’s time to start officially announcing matches, with several wrestlers already attempting to lay claim to having their match inside the menacing structure. Plus, Paul Heyman is around to add fuel to the rumors about a potential Lesnar-Goldberg rematch! Find out all the results from this week’s episode of Raw right here!

Live from Oakland, California

Sasha came out for a victory speech, namedropping Eddie Guerrero and dedicating her win to all women wrestlers, past and future. She acknowledged Charlotte’s rematch clause, and challenged her to up the ante and have it inside Hell in a Cell. Charlotte came out, but was interrupted during her entrance by Rusev, who said nobody cares about the women. Charlotte stole the microphone to prevent his diatribe and dressed down Rusev for disrespecting her, then agreed to Sasha’s challenge. Rusev attempted to butt in again, but this time Sasha stole the mic and threw it away. Lana also tried to tell Sasha and Charlotte to know their place, but was shoved down by both women, who then dropkicked Rusev out of the ring when he checked on his wife. Rusev looked to start something, so cue Roman Reigns, who caused the Bulgarian Brute to retreat with nothing more than a steely gaze.

New Day came out to talk about famous team-ups, and how Sheamus and Cesaro (especially Sheamus, who is hot garbage, complete with visual aids) are simply not good enough, leading into the first match of the evening.

– Kofi Kingston d. Cesaro (pinfall, Small Package)

Sheamus, who spent most of the match playing with his cell phone, distracted Cesaro by starting a fight with Xavier Woods and Big E at ringside, leading to the finish.

WWE aired the ESPN interview with Goldberg, because that match with Lesnar is totally happening, even if nobody will say anything.

– Bayley d. Cami Fields (pinfall, Bayley 2 Belly)

While celebrating amidst the wacky arm-waving inflatable tube men on the entrance ramp, Bayley was attacked from behind by Dana Brooke.

– Sin Cara and Lince Dorado d. Tony Nese and Drew Gulak (Dorado pinned Gulak, Shooting Star Press)

Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon came out to make a special announcement for Hell in a Cell, confirming both Reigns-Rusev and Sasha-Charlotte will be inside the Cell. In addition, Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens for the Universal Title is also a Hell in a Cell match. Obviously, Kevin Owens had a problem with that, and he and Jericho came out to complain. Owens doesn’t want to end up a washed-up GM like Foley, and Jericho said Mick has a vendetta against him, which lands Foley on the list (although he reminded Jericho that he’s the whole reason the list was created in the first place). Stephanie then declared that if Jericho can beat Rollins in their match later, he gets added to the Cell match.

Backstage, Seth Rollins wasn’t worried about this development, since he has a larger plan to take down Stephanie McMahon.

– Enzo and Cass vs Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel never happened, as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked Enzo and Cass during their spiel, leaving them laying.

After the commercial, Dallas and Axel demanded new opponents.

– Sami Zayn and Neville d. Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel (Neville pinned Axel, Red Arrow)

– R-Truth d. Titus O’Neil (pinfall, rollup)

– Braun Strowman d. Steven and Clay Splash (pinfall, Reverse Chokeslam)

– Sasha Banks and Roman Reigns d. Charlotte and Rusev (Sasha submitted Charlotte, Banks Statement)

Paul Heyman came out to shill for WWE 2K17 with video of Brock Lesnar beating up Goldberg, then theorized about what might happen if Goldberg returned. Spoiler Alert, Heyman thinks Lesnar would destroy him. Heyman then officially challenged Goldberg on behalf of Lesnar, anywhere, anyplace, anytime (coughSurvivorSeriescough).

– TJ Perkins d. Ariya Daivari (submission, Figure 4 Kneebar)

It was revealed (via his Twitter account) that Goldberg will be on Raw next week to answer Heyman’s challenge.

– Seth Rollins d. Chris Jericho (pinfall, Small Package)

Kevin Owens, who was at ringside, attacked Rollins after the match. Owens attempted a Pop-Up Powerbomb, but Rollins avoided and tried a Pedigree. Jericho made the save, but Rollins hit him with a Pedigree instead, while Owens retreated up the ramp.
