WWE Raw Match Results – August 15th, 2016

It’s the go-home Raw before SummerSlam, so this was the final chance for any new matches to be made, and for any SummerSlam opponents to try and get the upper hand headed into the big show! Here’s everything that went down on the last Raw before the PPV!

Live from Corpus Christi, Texas

Rusev and Lana demanded an apology from Roman Reigns, threatening to prevent Raw from moving on until they were satisfied. This drew out GM Mick Foley, Stephanie McMahon, and finally Roman Reigns, who made crude sexual jokes. Eventually, Mick Foley agreed to allow Rusev to face Reigns in a match to defend Lana’s honor. Hey, who’s supposed to be the good guy, here?

– Sami Zayn defeated Sheamus (pinfall, Helluva Kick). Cesaro distracted Sheamus allowing Sami to pick up the win.

Mick Foley announced that Sheamus and Cesaro would face each other in a “Best of Seven” Series, with the first match scheduled for SummerSlam.

– The New Day defeated The Dudley Boyz (Kofi pinned D’von, Trouble in Paradise)

– Nia Jax defeated Rachael Levy (pinfall, Samoan front slam)

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out to cut the usual go-home promo before a Lesnar PPV match, but are interrupted by Heath Slater, who says he’s been offered a contract with Raw and a SummerSlam appearance if he can beat Brock. After Heyman made several attempts to prevent Slater’s death, Brock destroyed him.

– Big Cass defeated Kevin Owens by DQ when Jericho attacked Cass.

Rusev attacked Roman Reigns backstage, leading to a brawl that was separated by officials.

– The Shining Stars defeated Darren Young and Titus O’Neil (Primo pinned Young, Clash of the Titus). Young accidentally ran into Titus on the apron, who retaliated with his finisher on Young, leading to the pin.

– Neville defeated Jinder Mahal (pinfall, Red Arrow)

Jon Stewart was announced as a special guest for SummerSlam.

After spending the evening searching the arena for the Demon King, Seth Rollins finally called him out in the ring. Balor made his first main roster entrance as the Demon, leading to a brawl that saw Balor hit a somersault dive over the top rope onto Rollins.

– Gallows and Anderson defeated Golden Truth (Gallows pinned Goldust, Magic Killer). New Day laid out Gallows and Anderson after the match, and tried to groin Anderson with Francesca II, but he escaped.

– Charlotte defeated Alicia Fox (pinfall, Natural Selection). Sasha Banks provided commentary for the match, and attempted to confront Charlotte, but was distracted by Dana Brooke, allowing Charlotte to lock Sasha in the Figure Four Leglock.

– Roman Reigns defeated Rusev (pinfall, Spear). So Lana’s honor remains sullied, we guess. Plus, at SummerSlam, we’ll get to see the same match, but shorter and for a title!
