WWE May Be Growing Concerned About John Cena

There have been multiple reports that several WWE officials have grown concerned about John Cena’s increasing non-wrestling commitments, which are already filling up his schedule for 2017. Cena has already missed the last quarter of 2016 while filming the second season of the reality show American Grit, and while he was away, he also signed on for a lead role in an upcoming comedy film The Pact. Cena will also be hosting Saturday Night Live this week, which will likely increase the number of offers he has coming in for outside projects. While Cena has always maintained that he is a wrestler first, it’s hard to blame him for seeking high-profile work that doesn’t involve a huge physical grind, especially as his in-ring career appears to be winding down.

At this point, Cena is still expected back in WWE by the New Year, and plans are in place for him to participate in both the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. How long he stays around otherwise, however, is still very much up in the air.
