After WWE Superstar Paige was suspended for the second time in three months for violating the company Wellness Policy, she and her family decided to take their case to the masses, claiming that she was being railroaded over failing to provide prescriptions for medication related to her neck injury. In a surprising move, WWE has actually responded to the accusations, issuing the following statement to the New York Post:
“Saraya-Jade Bevis tested positive for an illegal substance, not a prescription drug. In addition, WWE is providing world-class medical care for her in-ring injury.”
While WWE is not required to disclose the reasons behind any Wellness suspension and have regularly chosen not to, it would appear that this situation has become complicated enough that they felt a public response was necessary.
