WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka Arrested For Decades Old Murder Source:

On Tuesday afternoon, WWE legend Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka was arrested and charged with third degree murder in relation to his role in the 1983 death of his then-girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, in a motel room in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The case was originally closed without Snuka being charged, but was re-opened in 2012 after inconsistencies in Snuka’s testimony were noticed in his autobiography Superfly: The Jimmy Snuka Story, as well as in other accounts given by Snuka about the incident. This led to further investigation and uncovered a new autopsy report which labelled Argentino’s death a homicide. Snuka, who is now 72 and undergoing treatment for stomach cancer, is currently out of jail after posting $100,000 bond. If convicted, Snuka faces a potential sentence of 20 to 40 years in prison.

WWE has issued the following statement about Snuka’s arrest: “WWE expresses its continued sympathy to the Argentino family for their loss. Ultimately this legal matter will be decided by our judicial system.”
