Seth Rollins May Be Out of WrestleMania 33 With Yet Another Injury

Seth Rollins might be one of the unluckiest wrestlers in recent memory.

The former Shield member already missed last year’s WrestleMania 32 after suffering a massive fluke knee injury at a house show that required surgery. With a slow building feud with Triple H getting closer and closer to the big payoff, including the sudden introduction of former NXT champ Samoa Joe on Raw as the boss’s new muscle, Rollins may be facing yet another year with no WrestleMania.

In the aftermath of Joe’s brutal ambush on Raw, WWE.com reported on Wednesday that Rollins has re-injured his knee. They posted a video of him leaving Raw on crutches to their YouTube page.

Of course, we’ve been around long to know that you never believe everything the WWE says is true. It could all be part of some storyline, where Rollins makes a miraculous recovery to exact revenge on Joe, possibly at WrestleMania 33 in April. However, Pro Wrestling Insider is reporting that the injury is indeed very real, with Rollins travelling straight to Birmingham, Alabama to consult with noted athlete surgeon Dr. James Andrews about the severity of the damage.

Rollins seemed to confirm the realness of the injury with this post on his official Twitter.

If Rollins needs surgery again, we can basically cross him off the WrestleMania list. Hopefully the injury turns out to be a minor one, because having Rollins compete at WrestleMania again would certainly be a big boost to the WWE.
