Sasha Banks Was Supposed To Win The Women’s Title At WrestleMania 32

While almost nobody was upset with the incredible quality of the Women’s Title match at WrestleMania 32 between Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks, a lot of people were curious why Sasha didn’t win the new Women’s Championship in that match, given the build-up seemed to signify that it would be her crowning moment, and WWE went all-out with her entrance at the show, including having her cousin and newly inducted WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg rap her entrance theme live.

It turns out, Sasha not winning wasn’t any sort of punishment, but may have been a reward of sorts for an entirely different wrestler. Allegedly, WWE originally intended for Charlotte to face Sasha one-on-one, seeing that as a “big money match” that would have been perfect at WrestleMania. However, during her feud with Charlotte in the first months of the year, Becky Lynch acquitted herself so well as a babyface that the decision was made to include her as well, making the Women’s Title match a Triple Threat. As a result, WWE decided to hold off on the first Charlotte-Sasha match, and the title change, until a later date, which turned out to be the first Raw of the new Brand Extension.

What do you think? Did WWE make the right call?
