One of the best performers in NXT could very well be making an appearance at the big show in Texas.
The latest edition of the Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer newsletter indicates that Zayn is indeed scheduled to be a part of WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium in April. However, with approximately one until the show, Zayn has not been announced or been given a feud. In fact, the last time he was on WWE television was when he shockingly showed up at the Royal Rumble to eliminate Kevin Owens. And he hasn’t been heard from since.
Owens, who is the company’s Intercontinental Champion, conveniently doesn’t have a WrestleMania match scheduled. Something he actually openly complained about on this week’s episode of Smackdown. You can see where this is going, right?
The only problem is that there isn’t much time left to actually, ya know, build a feud and promote this match. Sure, Owens and Zayn have a bit of NXT history, but does the average person watching WrestleMania know or care about that? Maybe. Maybe not.
Zayn also already has a match scheduled that weekend, at the NXT TakeOver: Dallas event. Could he be in for a Friday-Sunday weekend double-header at two of the company’s biggest shows of the year? Or could he finally be ready to make the jump to main roster? Either way, Owens vs. Zayn for the IC title at WrestleMania would suit us just fine.
