With the chaotic events of Survivor Series, and the crowning of a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, interest should have been at a high for the first Raw after an eventful Pay Per View.

It was not.

In fact, Raw slipped to the lowest rating of any three hour Raw in history, and for the first time since the show moved to that length that Raw failed to average 3 million viewers. It was also the lowest-rated episode of Raw since 1997, with a 2.16 overall rating, and the first time it garnered less than a 1.0 in the 18-49 demographic since that statistic was recorded.
Here are the hourly breakdowns:

8 PM: 1.04 demo rating, 3.19 million viewers
9 PM: 1.01 demo rating, 2.99 million viewers
10 PM: 0.93 demo rating, 2.71 million viewers

The show dropped from a 1.21 demo rating, a 2.28 overall rating, and average of 3.29 million viewers last week. As usual, the show hemorrhaged viewers over the length of the broadcast, with the ratings dropping in both the second and third hours, for what has been generally considered a bad show according to reviews.

The numbers are especially concerning given that post-PPV Raws traditionally do better numbers, as fans tune in to find out the fallout from the night before. With ratings set to drop further due to the upcoming holidays, it is possible and almost certain that these numbers could continue to decline through December.

Raw ranked fourth overall for original cable programming for the evening.
