Lots of strange things happen at baseball games from time to time. However, if you have a bee phobia (or even an allergy), Thursday’s game between the Padres and Rockies in Arizona was literally your worst nightmare.
The game was almost over, with the Rockies carrying a 10-4 lead into the ninth inning, when a massive swarm of bees invaded the field, causing players to duck for cover like it was some kind of bomb drill. Even the umpire hit the deck to avoid the pesky insects.

The Padres aren’t new to battling bees. A swarm invaded a regular season game at Petco Park back in 2009.
