This week, the WWE is doing a “Superstar Shake-up.” Rather than re-drafting in the wake of WrestleMania 33, it sounds like the respective GMs of Raw and SmackDown and simply making trades or signing “free agents.” The kayfabe story behind it all really doesn’t matter though, because the end result is that each show will have some fresh faces and new feuds will emerge.
Most of the SmackDown stars moving to Raw were shown on screen, although some were only announced on the WWE’s official Twitter account. The returns to Raw were highlighted by The Miz (with Maryse) and Dean Ambrose (and presumably the Intercontinental Championship along with him) and former WWE champion Bray Wyatt.
Here’s a full list of the new members of the Raw roster.
- Apollo Crews
- The Miz and Maryse
- Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose
- Curt Hawkins
- Rhyno and Heath Slater
- Bray Wyatt
- Alexa Bliss
- Mickie James
Presumably there will be another handful of superstars moving the other way when SmackDown airs on Tuesday night. The WWE teased that Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn would both stay on Raw, which means they are probably odds-on-favorite to move anyway. We certainly wouldn’t count out anyone who appeared on Raw this week also showing up on SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shakeup.
