Within hours of WWE officially confirming that WWE will once again be dividing their roster into two separate brands, coinciding with Smackdown moving to Tuesday nights and becoming a live show on July 19th, reports and rumors began leaking about WWE’s potential plans for this new incarnation of the brand extension. For your convenience, we’ve compiled a few of the more likely to be true rumors into one spot so you can prepare and/or panic more conveniently.
– The date of the draft to split the rosters will almost certainly be the July 11th Raw from Detroit.
– While WWE is keeping quiet on who will end up on which brand, it is expected that Roman Reigns and John Cena will end up on different shows.
– The current plan is expected to see WWE return to having two World titles (although that could still change), with the Intercontinental and United States titles becoming exclusive to their brand. No decisions have yet been made about the Tag Team or Women’s titles.
– More NXT talent is expected to debut as part of the Brand Extension, with top candidates for graduation expected to include Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, and American Alpha. As a result, WWE is also likely planning to sign another wave of independent talents in the near future, in order to replenish their developmental system.
As always, we will keep you posted on anything we discover.
