D’Von Dudley Teases Possible Retirement On Social Media

If you’ve been paying attention to Raw since the Draft, you might have noticed growing tension and miscommunication between The Dudley Boyz during their matches, including last night at the SummerSlam Pay Per View. Once one of wrestling’s most dominant teams, the Dudleyz have basically been in the position of putting over younger tag teams since they returned last year. One year ago today, in fact, which leads us to this post on Twitter by D’Von Dudley.

While this doesn’t necessarily mean that the Dudleyz are retiring, it’s easy to theorize that at the very least, between this message and the direction the team has been heading, a break-up seems inevitable at the very least, and while Bubba Ray has had some success as a singles wrestler in his career, D’Von has had far less, and it would be unsurprising to see him ride off into the sunset if the team were to dissolve. In addition, the Dudleyz are both well into their 40’s and either one could be looking to a life after wrestling. In any event, it’s certainly something to keep an eye on tonight for a dual-brand post-SummerSlam episode of Raw

UPDATE: Bubba Ray has also posted a similar statement on Twitter:
