This week’s edition of Raw, featuring Vince McMahon making another appearance as the special guest referee for the main event of Roman Reigns vs Sheamus for the WWE World Heavyweight title, and with no appearances by John Cena, averaged 3.58 million viewers, up slightly from last week’s show, but not as large an amount as one might have hoped with the end of both the holiday season and Monday Night Football. As usual, Raw lost a number of viewers over the three hour length of the show, although the dip was not as significant as it has been in recent months, and the viewership held fairly steady for the last two hours.
Hour 1 (8pm-9pm): 3.7 million viewers
Hour 2 (9pm-10pm): 3.52 million viewers
Hour 3 (10pm-11pm + overrun): 3.5 million viewers
Next week’s episode of Raw is already promising an appearance by Brock Lesnar, plus there should be increased interest due to the actions of Vince McMahon as Raw went off the air this week, announcing that the WWE World Heavyweight Title will be up for grabs in the Royal Rumble match for only the second time in history. WWE is likely expecting higher viewership numbers next week.
