With the news that Brock Lesnar has been flagged for a potential drug test failure in advance of his heavily-hyped fight at UFC 200, comes the possibility that Lesnar could forfeit a large chunk of the near ten million dollars that he earned for that fight. If the test holds up, Lesnar could be fined nearly $2 million by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, who oversaw the UFC 200 event in Las Vegas. Lesnar might also be on the hook for a portion of his cut from the Pay Per View revenue.

In addition, Lesnar faces a two-year suspension from MMA, which could be shortened if it is revealed that the doping violation was inadvertent. Due to the face that this happened under the auspices of the USADA and the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Lesnar could potentially also be suspended from competing as a pro wrestler in North America for the next two years, putting his SummerSlam match with Randy Orton, and future WWE career, in jeopardy.

WWE issued the following statement on Lesnar’s potential violation and his current status with the company:

“Brock Lesnar has not performed for WWE since WrestleMania, which was held in April, and is not scheduled to return until Sunday, August 21.”

For his part, Lesnar’s only official statement on the matter has been a tersely worded sentence stating “We’ll get to the bottom of this.”

It should be noted that Lesnar is currently listed on WWE.com as being eligible to be picked in the WWE Brand Extension Draft on Tuesday, July 19th.
