Now that’s it been determined that absolutely anyone, no matter how unqualified, can become President, all sorts of people are planning political runs in the 2020 election. And since an inordinate number of pro wrestlers seem to end up tangled up in the political system, it probably shouldn’t be a surprise that Houston native and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has publicly stated that he is currently gearing up for a run at that city’s mayoral position in four years. According to Booker on the most recent episode of his podcast, “You heard it, 2020 I’m preparing.I’m preparing myself to run for mayor of the city.”
Apparently Booker was inspired by fellow Superstar Rhyno’s recent attempt to run for a seat on the Michigan House of Representatives, saying that Rhyno told him “You are over-qualified for the job. Wrestling not only prepares you for life but it prepares you for positions like that because you feel the emotion from the people you know what they want, you’ve built yourself from where you were to where you’re at now.”
It should be noted that Rhyno lost the election for his riding in a landslide.
