Anthem Media Officially Purchases TNA, Dixie Carter Out As Chairman

Confirming what many had already assumed, Anthem Media, owners of The Fight Network in Canada and several other media properties, has officially announced that they will be purchasing controlling interest in beleaguered North American wrestling organization TNA. As a result, former majority owner and Chairman Dixie Carter will step down and be re-assigned to an advisory position elsewhere in Anthem’s corporate structure, while retaining a minority stake in TNA. Anthem had formerly held a smaller percentage of TNA in exchange for debt relief, and has been controlling the day-to-day operations of the company since initially agreeing to purchase over the course of handling legal proceedings brought against TNA by another investor, Billy Corgan.

In other news, TNA will be taping its next twelve weeks of Impact this weekend, and just announced that they have reached a deal with Hulu to stream episodes of their weekly show on that service.
