When people envisioned the end of The Shield, they always thought Seth Rollins was the guy who’d end up getting lost in the shuffle. Roman Reigns was already earmarked to be the next face of the company, and even if he wasn’t, he was too dominant not to at least be a major player in a singles run. As for Dean Ambrose, with many regarding him as the face of The Shield, they expected big things from the Lunatic Fringe.
However, fast forward nearly two years and all Ambrose has done—title wise—is have one Intercontinental title reign that lasted two months. His other Shield brethren have already both won the World Heavyweight title, and while Ambrose is still very much a main event player, it often seemed like he wouldn’t be winning the big one any time soon, right up until he cashed in Money in the Bank in 2016, winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title to a tremendous ovation. Here are six reasons why Ambrose should be THE guy.
6. He’s Got the Theme Song Down
This might be a silly reason, but a theme song for the main guy in your company is important. While some people may not like this theme, overall, it seems like majority of people dig Dean Ambrose’s “Retaliation” soundtrack. It’s almost similar to Stone Cold Steve Austin’s theme such that when it hits, you know business is about to pick up. It even has that opening sound of the guitar riff that gets fans pumped and ready to pop, just like so many other great wrestlers have had over the years such as Austin’s “Broken Glass” and Ric Flair’s “Wooo.”
