9. Cody Rhodes and Eden Stiles

The son of the son of a plumber and his lovely wife are perhaps one of the more low-key couples in wrestling, which is impressive, given Cody’s most recent gimmick involved him dressing in a bodysuit and makeup as a mysterious being from beyond the stars. Cody, of course, was one of WWE’s top prospects for most of his run, doing his family line proud even when WWE gave him a string of ridiculously horrible gimmicks. Meanwhile, Eden worked her way up from NXT to become a backstage/ring announcer making regular appearances on Raw, while also becoming a large part of WWE’s online presence (including many videos and photos with a certain Stardust lurking in the background). Unfortunately, Cody grew disenfranchised with his treatment in WWE and asked for his release, with Eden following him out the door shortly thereafter, so their presence has become greatly diminished on the mainstream scene.

8. Edge and Beth Phoenix

Anyone who followed Edge’s WWE career knows that his love life was contentious at best, with more than one failed marriage along the way. Most infamous, of course, was his scandalous secret relationship with Lita while she was still dating Matt Hardy, which became such a big deal that WWE actually turned it into an on-screen angle (which, much like in real life, did not go well for Matt). However, in retirement, it seems as if Edge may have settled down and managed to get someone to stick around, in the form of former Divas Champion Beth Phoenix, who is also basically retired from the wrestling business and seems to spend a lot of time acting as Edge’s social media publicist/camera operator when he does something wacky. While the two haven’t had any sort of official ceremony (that we know of), and have basically flown under the radar in terms of publicizing their relationship, they did just recently announce the birth of their second child together, so things seem to be going well.

7. John Cena and Nikki Bella

The relationship between John Cena and Nikki Bella was one of the featured storylines of the early seasons of Total Divas, with Cena (who had undergone a public and messy divorce in recent years) reluctant to commit to a long-term relationship, while Nikki clearly wanted the ring, the wedding, and the potential for children in the future. Their constant back-and-forth dominated most of their relationship, before they finally got engaged in early 2016. It remains to be seen if they’ll ever actually tie the knot, but in the meantime, they’re set to be the stars of a Total Divas spin-off called Total Bellas, which will follow Cena and Nikki as they interact with the rest of the Bella clan, which includes the next happy couple on our list…

6. Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella

While Daniel Bryan being forced to retire against his will due to neck and concussion issues was definitely tragic, it’s hard to argue that Bryan didn’t make the most of the time he spent in WWE. Not only did he end up as a three-time World Champion when all was said and done, but his winning personality attracted the eye of Brie Bella, and the two fell desperately in love with each other. Their relationship was revealed to the public as part of the Total Divas reality show, as the two grew closer over the course of the show, culminating in an on-screen proposal (the details of which Bryan talked about in his biography, and they are somewhat hilarious). At a certain point, their relationship was acknowledged on-screen, and even made into a storyline after Bryan was forced to forfeit the WWE World Title due to injury, but only after Brie was fired for Bryan’s failure to immediately comply. 5. Lana and Rusev

First paired up on-screen in NXT, the Ravishing Russian and the Bulgarian Brute have been one of the most dominant couples on WWE programming, while being one of wrestling’s cutest couples in real life. They’ve been open about their relationship on social media ever since it began, a situation which did lead to some on-screen controversy. While trapped in a horrible storyline where they were broken up (allegedly in an attempt by Vince McMahon to break them up in real life, because he thought it was unrealistic for them to be together, a rumor that is so clearly insane that we assume it’s entirely true), with Lana managing (and possibly hooking up with) Dolph Ziggler while Rusev turned to Summer Rae, the couple posted pictures on social media to announce their real-life engagement. WWE officials were decidedly not pleased, and were forced to abort the ongoing storyline (arguably, the best thing to come out of the situation), with some sort of punishment handed down backstage. None of that seems to have deterred the happy couple, who revealed in mid-2016 that they were getting married, via pictures posted on Instagram, literally 24 hours before the ceremony!

4. Tyson Kidd and Natalya

The last generation of Hart Dungeon graduates have been associated with each other since childhood, so perhaps it’s unsurprising that they ended up together. Their relationship was widely documented during the first season of Total Divas, culminating in their actual wedding ceremony being part of the show. While the show made their relationship look rocky, there has been no real indication that they are anything less than devoted to each other, with the show allowing Natalya to pair with her husband on-screen as part of a tag team with Cesaro. Unfortunately, Kidd suffered a freak neck injury during a match which most likely has ended his wrestling career for good, although both do continue to appear on Total Divas, and Natalya has become a focal point of the new WWE Women’s Division.

3. The Miz and Maryse

We can pretty much agree at this point that The Miz is the luckiest man on the planet, right? He became a reality star, which led to him getting to live his dream of becoming a pro wrestler, where he has become a highly-decorated champion, and even defeated John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania XXVIII to retain the WWE Championship! Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, he married Maryse, a French Canadian former model who also had a successful run in WWE and was a former Divas Champion. Since getting married in 2014, the two have seemed delriously happy together, with Miz’s career path going ever upwards, including becoming the unlikely face of WWE Studios’ The Marine movie franchise (which really aren’t as bad as you think). Recently, Maryse returned to WWE TV as Miz’s wife/manager, bringing their real-life status as a Hollywood couple to their on-screen characters (significantly exaggerated, of course), a pairing which has been absolutely magical to watch play out.

2. CM Punk and AJ Lee

The longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era and the woman who only recently saw her record as longest reigning Divas Champion broken, CM Punk and AJ Lee have often grabbed headlines, both during their wrestling careers and in retirement from the business. Punk, of course, made a career of being incredibly vocal about things that he didn’t like, which finally led to him walking away from WWE in 2014. Punk was also a notorious womanizer over his career, which made it fairly shocking when he announced that he would be marrying AJ Lee later that year. Lee, who was still a member of the WWE roster at the time, did not remain so much longer, leaving the company a year later, after publicly chastising Stephanie McMahon for claiming to be an activist for woman’s rights while still treating the females in WWE as second-class citizens. Since retiring, both Punk and AJ seem incredibly happy, although Punk remained in the public eye by signing with UFC despite having never officially trained for MMA fighting. Lee, meanwhile, is reportedly working on a biography about her life in the wrestling business.

1. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon

These days, Triple H and Stephanie are pretty much the ultimate power couple, but many questioned Triple H’s decision to get involved with the daughter of Vince McMahon in the first place, given what it could mean for his career if things went south. And although there was some extra controversy generated when Triple H’s former girlfriend, Chyna, publicly accused Stephanie of stealing her man, it’s been pretty much smooth sailing for the pair, who were married in 2003. On-screen, they have spent large chunks of the last fifteen years exerting their power over the rest of the WWE roster, while behind the scenes, they’ve risen to significant positions of power within WWE’s corporate structure and also somehow found time to welcome three daughters into the world. And with Stephanie and Triple H the consensus choice to assume the reins of power on that inevitable day where Vince is proved to be mortal (assuming that actually happens), it looks like this couple will be around for years to come.
