Star Wars Gift Ideas 2019

8 minute read

By Riley Jones (@moviemanjones)

We here at Goliath know Christmas isn’t about gifts, it’s about Star Wars! I mean, catching up with family and giving back are cool and all, but watching The Mandalorian on Disney Plus or Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker takes the cake.

All jokes aside, if you’re looking for the perfect Star Wars-themed gift to get for a gift exchange, someone special, or perhaps yourself, Goliath has handpicked a handful of gift ideas to help you get started. From the release of the EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to a set of Star Wars kettlebells, we’ve collected a variety of Star Wars gifts available this holiday season.

So without further ado, here are 10 of Goliath’s favorite Star Wars gift ideas of 2019. If you’re looking to surprise the super-fan in your life, you’ve come to the right place.

14. Baby Yoda Plush Toy

Ever since Baby Yoda made his debut on The Mandalorian, the internet has been going insane over the cute little 50-year-old green infant. With Christmas only a few weeks away, everyone and their mother is desperately trying to get their hands on some Baby Yoda merchandise, but due to Disney not wanting to spoil the little guy’s reveal (which we love), there won’t be much to choose from until after the holiday season is over.

Even though it’s not going to be released until April 2020, Disney has teamed up with Mattel to release an 11-inch Baby Yoda plush doll, which Disney is calling “The Child Plush.” I guess this means we can stop calling him/her Baby Yoda… or not.

13. Jedi Challenges AR Headset and Lightsaber Control

One of the coolest Star Wars-themed gift ideas available this season is the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges AR headset from Lenovo. Awaken your inner Jedi and master the art of lightsaber duels with this cool gift idea. The headset also allows users to play Dejarik (Holochess), a two-player game featuring holographic creatures, as first seen in Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope. For those interested in multiplayer, the Jedi Challenges AR headset also supports 1-on-1 local battles in Lightsaber Versus Mode.

Reviews of the AR headset are pretty positive so far, but some fans have been quick to point out that the product requires the use of a phone, which wouldn’t be an issue if all phones were compatible, but they aren’t. From what we’re hearing, AR headset is compatible with every iPhone released from iPhone 6 to the iPhone XS, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S9, S8, Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, Samsung Galaxy S7, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel, Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z, LG G6. Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Nova 2S, Xiaomi MIX2, Sony Xperia XZ1. If you or the person you’re purchasing the headset for doesn’t own one of the phones mentioned above, we’d reccommed picking up something else.

12. The Mandalorian and Child 500-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

If you’re not a fan of Funko Pop! figures but would still really like to pick up some new Star Wars merch over the holidays, look no further than The Mandalorian and Child-inspired puzzle. When finished, this challenging 500-piece puzzle is roughly 21.25 x 15 inches. As an added bonus, the Star Wars puzzle, which retails for $10.99 USD, also comes with a poster, which is quite helpful for those who might have difficulty completing such a big puzzle.

11. Baby Yoda Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure

If you or someone you know is a Funko Pop! collector and a passionate Star Wars fan, you’ll be happy to know a Baby Yoda Funko Pop! is now available… but only for pre-order. The figure is roughly 3 3/4 inches tall and comes packaged in a window display. There is also a 10-inch version of the Baby Yoda Pop! available for $31.33 USD, whereas the standard version sells for roughly $11 USD.

For those looking for more Mandalorian Funko Pop! figures, you’ll be happy to know Kuiil and Cara Dune figures are also available, but like Baby Yoda, they too won’t be available until Memorial Day (Monday, May 25).

10. Disney Plus Subscription

Disney Plus is the newest streaming service from Disney, and the five major categories include Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and Nation Geographic. While we’ve enjoyed the service a great deal so far, it has nowhere near the amount of content as Netflix currently has. That said, with the holidays drawing near, it does have the Home Alone films, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Santa Clause, among many other Christmas classics. It also has nearly every Marvel movie, various classic 90s movies/cartoons and but best of all, The Mandalorian.

If you’re still on the fence about whether or not pick up the newly released streaming service, we’ll kindly refer you to Baby Yoda’s loveable green face below.

9. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released by Electronic Arts (EA) for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 15, 2019. The game follows a young padawan named who throughout the galaxy by the Empire. The story takes place sometime after the film Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

Despite only being out for a few weeks, the game has quickly become one of the most delightful and pleasant surprises of the year. If you or someone you know is a fan of Star Wars and enjoys playing video games, we’d highly recommend giving Fallen Order a chance.

8. Dork Too Star Wars

One of the coolest Star Wars-themed gift ideas we came across this season is Nixon’s new Dork Too Star Wars, 34 MM watch. It might contain one of the more expensive items listed, but as a big fan of the Nixon, we knew we had to include this retro-looking watch. It features a custom digital LCD module, and a speaker, which comes programmed with over 25 authentic Star Wars sounds and quotes.

The functions include time, date, alarm, and EL backlight. The Dork Too also comes with a custom stainless steel case, speaker cover, and micro USB charging port.

7. Star Wars Death Star Fire Pit

The handcrafted Death Star Fire Pit found made by West Coast Firepits is by far the most expensive item listed, but just looking at it made us geek out so much we could resist including it. How cool would it be to chat about The Mandalorian while sitting around this work of art? We can only imagine what it would feel like to own one and get to use it whenever you felt like watching the Death Star burn and talk Star Wars.

6. Star Wars Millennium Falcon Waffle Maker

At first glance, we thought this might be a little gimmicky. Still, after trading some reviews and taking into consideration that almost everyone loves waffles, we thought the Millennium Falcon waffle maker was worthy of the list.

At the end of the day, if you or a person you know enjoys Star Wars (and waffles) as much as we do, picking this Williams Sonoma waffle maker up is an easy decision. I mean, who doesn’t want to eat buttery waffles in the shape of the Millennium Falcon?

5. Star Wars Kettlebells

If you or someone you know is a Star Wars collector and enjoys working out, these dark side-themed kettlebells will make the perfect gift. Each custom sculpted kettlebell is made of chip-resistant iron and comes in three different badass designs: Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, and Darth Vader.

4. “I Love You,” “I Know” Star Wars Pillow Covers

We’re not going lie, these Star Wars-themed pillowcases are super cute, and I don’t say that often. From what we can tell from the reviews, the handmade cotton covers are excellent quality and arrive as described.

Fans of the Star Wars will immediately recognize these iconic quotes from Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. During the scene, Han Solo kisses Princess Leia, and as he turns away, not sure if he’ll survive, she blurts out, “I love you,” to which Han hilariously replies, “I know.”

3. Yoda Bookend

If you’re looking for a place to display your collection of ancient Jedi texts, you might get a kick out of the metal Yoda bookend pictured below. The illusion of Yoda using the force to hold up the books might seem silly to some, but if you’re a Star Wars fan, like us, this is super cool. It also happens to be one of the least expensive items on the list, so if you’re looking for something small, possibly for an office Secret Santa swap (or whatever you call them), look no further than the Yoda bookend.

2. Star Wars Home Arcade Game

If you were born before the 90s, like us, there’s a strong chance you’ve played a fair share of arcade games over the years. For that reason, we had to include the Star Wars Home Arcade Game from Arcade1Up. The three-quarter-sized Star Wars-themed cabinet includes a light-up marquee, full-colour 17″ display, riser, dual speakers, and three classic games based on Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

The arcade cabinet, without a doubt, a must-have for any serious Star Wars collector, especially if the person also enjoys playing video games.

1. Star Wars Pressure Cooker

As featured on Forkly, William Sonoma recently unveiled a new collection. As fans of both Star Wars and making delicious food, we found ourselves quite intrigued by the company’s Star Wars-themed Instant Pots. As pictured below, the collection comes in a variety of sizes and styles.

Considering how popular these cooking gadgets have become over the past few years, we realize a lot of people already have one, but if by chance you or someone you know is still without, the 6-Quart R2-D2 Pot Duo might make the perfect gift.
