Buffalo Wild Wings’ Mountain Dew-Flavored Chicken Wings Are 2015’s Biggest Crime Against Food

As if we needed a further reminder that weird food creations are getting out of hand at our nation’s fast food establishments, Buffalo Wild Wings have obliged us with a new dubious culinary creation — Mountain Dew-flavored wings. Yes, because chicken really needed to be paired with citrus soda favored by stoners everywhere.

Created in celebration of the Citrus Bowl game between University of Michigan and University of Florida on New Year’s Day, the “Zesty Citrus” sauce is available at your local Buffalo Wild Wings today, so make sure to modify your lunch plans.

Here’s the official press release and its attempt to actually make this unholy creation sound appetizing:

Available in restaurants from December 14, 2015 through January 2, 2016, the bold citrus flavor of Mountain Dew was infused with lemongrass and spicy red pepper-flakes to create a blast of sweet and spicy that will leave Guests asking for more.

Don’t worry, if Mountain Dew wings aren’t your thing, BWW will also have a Fruitopia variety on hand. You know, the iced tea brewed by hippies but distributed by a heartless, multi-national corporation! (Actually, that flavor doesn’t exist . . . but it should).
