About This Quiz

The Shawshank Redemption was officially released in theatres on September 23, 1994, so in celebration of the movie's 25th anniversary, the cult classic is returning to theatres through September 25, 2019. Frank Darabont's film is based on Stephen King's 1982 novella 'Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption,' about a banker who is sentenced to life in the prison for the murder of his wife, despite being innocent (or so we're lead to believe). In all honesty, if you're a fan of the film and haven't read the book, we'd highly recommend doing so.

How many times have you seen the Oscar-nominated film? Do you remember where Andy claimed to have tossed the gun? Can you recall what Red found in the hayfield in Buxton? If so, you've come to the right place...

In celebration of The Shawshank Redemption's 25th anniversary, we created a quiz specifically to test your knowledge of the film. Find out how well you know the cult classic now and remember, Andy climbed through five-hundred yards of excrement to get to break free, so compared to that, this will be a walk in the park. Good luck!
