‘Y: The Last Man’ Writer Developing ‘Silver Surfer’ Movie For Fox

Thanks to a new piece from The Hollywood Reporter, which details all the movies Marvel movies Fox is trying to develop before the looming Disney merger becomes finalized, we now know that a Silver Surfer movie is in development.

According to the report, Silver Surfer is being written by Brian K. Vaughan, which is great news considering Vaughan is one of the best comic book writers working today, having written modern classics such as Y: The Last Man, Saga, and Ex Machina. Of course, this won’t be the first time the Silver Surfer has appeared onscreen (as the title indicates, he had a pretty prominent role in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer), but this would be the first solo movie for the Marvel hero, assuming it makes it to screen this time (Hollywood has tried to get a solo film off the ground in the past).

Not much else is known at this time but considering how often Silver Surfer seems to get overlooked, this sounds like pretty great news to us!
