‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ And ‘New Mutants’ Won’t Be Released In 2018

The wait for the next round of X-Men movies just got a bit longer.

As revealed by Deadline (via Birth.Movies.Death), 20th Century Fox has pushed back a number of upcoming releases, including Simon Kinberg’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Josh Boone’s The New Mutants spinoff.

Dark Phoenix, which was originally supposed to come out this November, has now been pushed back to February 14th of next year. However, the biggest delay belongs to New Mutants, a film which was originally slated to come out in February 2018 — then moved to February 2019 — will now come out on August 2, 2019. For those not keeping track, that’s a delay of sixteen months. No reason was given for either film’s delay, but it’s hard not to get the impression that New Mutants in particular is suffering a pretty troubled production. Hopefully it turns out alright in the end.

Are you looking forward to either of these X-Men movies when they eventually drop next year?
