Other than a few casting announcements, we really don’t know much about the upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie, featuring a young Han Solo. The thing doesn’t even have an official title yet.
We do know that Alden Ehrenreich will play Solo and Donald Glover has been cast as Lando Calrissian. Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, Michael K. Williams (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire), and Woody Harrelson have also been given parts in the film, although it’s still unclear who those characters might be.
Despite the lack of public information, Harrelson recently spoke with Collider about his current and future projects, and on the subject of the Han Solo solo film (see what we did there?), the former Oscar nominee wasn’t shy about boasting.
[The ‘Star Wars’ films] are great. You know, any movie’s only as good as the director or in this case directors, and so I have a suspicion, because if you look at the whole, all the movies, the backlog of every one of these movies, there’s a lot of great stuff, but one might not be not as good with the writing in this or the acting in that or the directing in that, this has great actors, great directors, great script, and I really feel like we’re gonna make the best one.
There you have it people. Woody says the Han Solo standalone might just be the best Star Wars movie ever made. They have a lot to live up to…
