In celebration of Gal Gadot’s 34th birthday, Wonder Woman 1984 director and friend Patty Jenkins took to Twitter this afternoon to share a photo from the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel, along with a special birthday message to the talented Israeli actress,
Happy Birthday to my most spectacular, incredible, amazing, beautiful, loving, powerful, hilarious and awe inspiring friend and partner. I love you more than words can say. Happy Birthday @GalGadot #WW1984
Gadot later thanked Jenkins for her kind words and expressed how lucky she feels to be working with a director she considers family.

At this point, it’s unclear whether the photo is from past or present, but judging by Diana’s elegant outfit and the interior of the building, there’s a strong possibility that Wonder Woman 1984 will take place in the past and modern day, much like the first film.
The Wonder Woman sequel will star the return of Gadot as Diana Prince, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta, and Robin Wright as Antiope. The sequel will also feature newcomers Kristen Wiig, who is playing the primary antagonist Barbara Ann Minerva a.k.a. Cheetah and The Mandalorian‘s Pedro Pascal will play Maxwell Lord, a popular supervillain who first appeared in Justice League #1 in May of 1987.
