“I always thought he lived for the sled, but what he loved for was me.”

Togo tells the untold true story of a remarkable sled dog who leads a transport of diphtheria antitoxin serum through nearly 700 miles of harsh conditions to save the Alaskan town of Nome in 1925, also known as the Great Race of Mercy. The inspiring story was also the basis for the 1995 animated movie Balto, which starred Kevin Bacon, Bridget Fonda, Jim Cummings, Phil Collins, and Bob Hoskins.

The upcoming film was directed by Ericson Core and stars Willem Dafoe as Leonhard Seppala, a Norwegian sled dog breeder, and Togo’s owner. The movie also features Thorbjørn Harr, Michael Gaston, Julianne Nicholson, Christopher Heyerdahl, and Michael McElhatton. Togo arrives on Disney Plus on December 20th.
