Sony Pictures has released the latest trailer for the upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse ahead of New York Comic-Con this weekend and boy does it look good.
The new trailer expands on what we saw previously in the first trailer released back in June, showing the budding friendship between Peter Parker (Jake Johnson) and Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), as well as all the other Spider-people they’ll be encountering in this multi-dimension mashup, including Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noire, and even Spider-Ham!
Here’s the official synopsis:
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
With Insomniac Games’ recent Spider-Man game on PS4 managing to tell a better Spider-Man story than arguably any of the movies released thus far, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse certainly has its work cut out for it but with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller at the helm, we have a good feeling the film will be able to deliver when it’s released on Dec. 14.
