Fox Searchlight has just released the first full-length trailer for the upcoming J.R.R. Tolkien biopic, Tolkien, a story detailing the early years one of the world’s greatest storytellers. The film stars Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class, Mad Max: Fury Road) as the titular author, Lily Collins (To the Bone, Stuck in Love) at Edith Bratt, Anthony Boyle as Geoffrey Bache Smith, Patrick Gibson as Robert Q. Gilson, and Tom Glynn-Carney as Christopher Wiseman.

As the creator of some of the most epic adventures ever told, Tolkien’s legacy will live on forever through his stories and the film adaptations of those tales.

Here’s a quick synopsis of the film:

Tolkien explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the “fellowship” apart. All of these experiences would inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-Earth novels.
