WATCH: First Teaser Trailer For Elton John’s Biopic ‘Rocketman’ Released Today

The first official teaser trailer for the long-awaited Biopic of the incredible rock star Elton John has finally released, and it’s looking like a fantastic production.

It will focus on Elton John’s earlier days while attending the Royal Academy of Music, following into his later journeys in the 1970s as he turns into the superstar everyone knows of today.

An exciting factor for many is that the star of the Kingsman action movie series, Taron Egerton, will play the superstar Elton John. Fans should be excited to know that Egerton will appear onscreen doing his own performance of the signature song ‘Rocketman’ along with other performances of titles from the famed musician.

We’ve included the teaser trailer below, check it out!

He’ll appear on screen beside Jamie Bell who will depict Elton John’s lyricist Bernie Toupin, and the role of Elton John’s mother will be played by Bryce Dallas Howard, who many know from her roles in Black Mirror and the Jurassic World film series (2015-2018).

While there’re other anticipated Biopics coming out in the near future, most notably Bohemian Rhapsody, which has received a PG-13 rating, people are speculating that Rocketman will exceed the performance of this competing title because of it’s rating-based limitations.

Bohemian Rhapsody is the story of Freddie Mercury, one of the biggest Rock stars of all time, but because of the PG-13 rating, the film won’t be allowed to explore mature subject matter, like drugs, alcohol, partying etc. This can concern people of a story half-told, as those factors often play a major influence on artists.

Rocketman will not face these rating-based content limitations as it’s got an R rating, meaning we will get to see the Kingsman star partying as the flamboyant superstar Elton John, and that’s a sight I want to see.

Let us know in the comments what you’d like to see from Egerton’s performance!
