‘The Flash’ Director Hints At Expanded Role For Cyborg

One of the biggest rumors surrounding Rick Famuyiwa’s The Flash movie is that the Scarlet Speedster’s Justice League teammate Cyborg (Ray Fisher) will be making an appearance. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but a recent post on Famuyiwa’s Twitter account suggests that Cyborg is not only in the film, but may have a bigger role than originally thought.

The image Famuyiwa put out shows an updated version of the film’s script, with two Funko Pop! figures positioned on top. One of the figures is clearly The Flash, while the other one is positioned in such a way as to make it almost unidentifiable. However, fans did some digging and it looks like it is in fact the Cyborg figure.

It’s interesting to note that The Flash and Cyborg figures are accompanying a shot of a revised script, as it suggests that Famuyiwa’s latest revision features more Cyborg than earlier drafts. Perhaps DC is taking a page out of Marvel’s plans for Thor: Ragnarok, which will prominently feature The Hulk alongside the God of Thunder. All of this is of course just conjecture at this point, but don’t be surprised if Cyborg ends up being a big deal in The Flash when it hits theaters in 2018.
